Myrtle and Sitka Spruce Dreadnought

$3,000

Although still rarely used, myrtle is becoming increasingly popular as a tonewood because it combines extraordinary beauty with exceptional projection and balance across bass, midrange and treble. The wood grows only on the northern coast of California and Oregon.

I hadn’t worked with myrtle when I stumbled across this back and sides set in a lumberyard in the Berkshire Mountains, of all places. It was just so beautiful I had to buy it. And when I strummed the first chord, I was just blown away by the power and tone.
